There have recently appeared a large number of books decrying the governing and tactics of the Bush Administration and other conservatives. I have taken to calling these, "Bad people doing bad things books." These are recommended for getting your adrenalin level up but not much else. Books designed to help us get Republicans out of office and to put Democrats, who are truly progressive, back into these positions are by far my favorites and are just my "Get it Done" books.I just read a short article (Jan/Feb 2009 The Atlantic) on Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York, the Chair of the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee. He is evidently extremely good at his job but I usually don't pay much attention to Senators who represent a state about 3,000 miles away. The only real action item I could find was to define "Middle Class" as earning perhape $80,000 per year instead of $20 to $40,000 per year. We need more help on how to win elections in our area instead of feel-good pieces about how others have won elections.
